Vicky Myers teases Lisa and Carla's future on Coronation Street

Coronation Street star Vicky Myers has given fans a glimpse of what's to come for Lisa and Carla Connor-Swain in the ITV soap, hinting that viewers may finally get their wish of more domestic scenes between the couple.

The couple, who made history earlier this year by becoming the first two women to successfully marry in Weatherfield, have faced a turbulent time since tying the knot. Their wedding day was overshadowed by the discovery of Theo Silverton's body by his daughter Betsy, with Sarah Platt later confessing to the crime. Detective Sergeant Lisa led the investigation.

Challenges for the Connor-Swains

More recently, the family has faced further difficulties after Betsy was rushed to hospital in July, having been found collapsed at home by Ryan Connor. Doctors revealed the 18-year-old had suffered a stroke, followed by a second while being treated. The strokes were caused by a blood clot resulting from neck artery damage due to a temporary loss of circulation.

Betsy was forced to explain to Lisa that her boyfriend, Dylan Wilson, had strangled her during consensual sex, despite both believing the pressure applied was minimal. The soap has since explored the complicated nature of Dylan's involvement and continues to document Betsy's recovery at home.

What's ahead for Lisa and Carla

Speaking exclusively to the Manchester Evening News at the Inside Soap Awards 2026, the Stockport-born actress said: "They've got some stuff in the works, there's the domesticity as well and watching them grow as a couple and a family. Because there's obviously the aftermath of Betsy's [stroke] and rehabilitation and hopefully more with Ryan and the Connor-Swains, that would be really sweet."

She added: "But there's a lot of police things as well, with the Kit [Green] storyline. So there's a lot Lisa is trying to juggle. It's a really interesting dynamic between Lisa and Carla, and how supportive they are with each other. Because they're there for each other, they can be vulnerable with each other, and they can trust each other with everything that they do, which I think is a really beautiful thing. Who doesn't want a relationship like that?"

Vicky was seen picking up two awards at the Inside Soap Awards 2026, which were held in Manchester for the first time. As well as Best Actress, she also won the Best Partnership prize alongside Alison King, who plays on-screen wife Carla. It comes after she took home the same two awards at last year's ceremony.

Exploring Lisa's past

When asked what she would like to see for her character in the future, Vicky shared: "I think it would be really interesting to find out about Lisa's family and I think, without giving too much away, it would, for me, selfishly... there's little things I've gathered together. But I think that would be really interesting and [would], maybe, find out who she is, why she is the way she is, what made her want to join the police force..."

She added: "I think there's a lot to unpack with her. She's so complex and has a moral compass... There is a lot that I would really like to explore, and I think that would be really challenging and interesting to play. But not to give too much away too soon, because it's always interesting to reveal little bits as we go along."
