Van Der Valk Season 4 will debut on ITV on Sunday, August 2, at 8pm, nearly two years after its US release. The series consists of three feature-length episodes, each around two hours long, airing on consecutive Sunday nights.

Marc Warren returns as Piet Van Der Valk, joined by Maimie McCoy as Lucienne Hassell, Darrell D'Silva as Hendrik Davie, Emma Fielding as Julia Dahlman, and Azan Ahmed as Sergeant Eddie Suleman. New cast member Kim Riedle plays Sergeant Kalie Tenkers, Van Der Valk's ex-girlfriend.

Plot
Each episode revolves around a different investigation. Episode One follows a whistle-blower in police protection murdered after trying to bring down a criminal empire's matriarch. Episode Two involves the murder of an environmental campaigner on the eve of a global conference. Episode Three sees a young scientist killed while researching a possible cancer treatment breakthrough. Throughout the season, Van Der Valk deals with a past romance resurfacing and helps a team member confront their own morality.
