A TV expert has spotlighted six underrated HBO series that they describe as "true gems that almost no one talks about." The Spanish-language X account @fansdepantallas, which regularly highlights under-appreciated shows, said: "If you've already watched the most famous ones, here are six series that probably slipped past you and that deserve way more recognition."
Somebody Somewhere
This comedy-drama follows a woman in her 40s dealing with life after the death of her sister. It stars Bridget Everett as Sam Miller and Jeff Hiller, who in 2025 won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal of Joel. @Fansdepantallas described the programme as "one of the most human series of the last few years." "It doesn't need big twists or action to move you," they said. "Just incredible characters, very natural humour, and conversations that feel like real life. The Deuce
Created by The Wire producer David Simon, this series depicts the early years of the pornography industry in New York City. Irma Vep
This eight-episode miniseries is based on a 1996 French comedy-drama of the same name. Station Eleven
