ITV has unveiled first look images and a trailer for the fourth series of Trigger Point, teasing an explosive start for Vicky McClure's bomb disposal officer Lana Washington. The new footage hints at the team facing their "greatest challenge yet," with a voiceover warning: "What we're facing is unprecedented."
New Commander and Cast
The trailer also features Julie Graham as Nia Quentin, the team's new commander, who tells her colleagues they face "the biggest terror attack that this country has ever seen." Graham, known for her role in Shetland, makes her Trigger Point debut as a guest star. She appears in the images alongside Michael Balogun as Andy Oldfield.
Other new images show Lana with fellow officers Danny (Eric Shango) and Phil Croxley (Christopher Hatherall), as well as with Nabil Elouahabi's Hassan Rahim. The team is also seen on a speedboat on the Thames. Returning cast members Maanuv Thiara and Natalie Simpson, who play DCI Amar Batra and Helen Morgan, are pictured at a table.
McClure and Producers Weigh In
McClure expressed her excitement about the new series, saying: "I love working with the team, we have a great time making the show and I cannot wait to continue Lana’s journey on Trigger Point." ITV's director of drama Polly Hill added: "I'm delighted that this thrilling series is returning for a fourth series. I know audiences will be once again on the edge of their seat as Lana and the team take us on another thrilling ride to keep the capital safe."
The six-episode series is produced by Jed Mercurio, creator of Line of Duty, which also stars McClure. Line of Duty's seventh series is expected in late 2026, reuniting McClure with Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar as they investigate a charismatic officer accused of sexual predation.
