In the July 30 episode of Coronation Street, Tracy Barlow falls unwell after drinking a smoothie intended for Ross Wilkes. Cassie Plummer had spiked the drink to sabotage Ross's drugs test, but Ross tricks Tracy into consuming it.
Cassie's Plan to Expose Ross
Ross's arrival shocked Tyrone Dobbs and his family, but Cassie is the only one who sees his charm as an act. During Ross's birthday meal, Cassie revealed that when she was 15, Ross gave money to his friend so he could sleep with her. Tyrone was horrified and confronted his dad, but Ross manipulated him into believing he has changed.
Ross Threatens Cassie
Feeling isolated, Cassie was faced with a furious Ross who pinned her against the wall and said he would kill her if she came between him and Tyrone again. Determined to get rid of Ross, Cassie crushed up Tyrone's painkillers and hid them in Ross's drink, but Ross worked out what she was doing.
Tracy Collapses
With the spiked drink in hand, Ross told love interest Tracy she looked unwell and should drink the smoothie Amy Barlow had made him. Moments later, Tracy collapsed in front of her daughter, was rushed into an ambulance, and taken to hospital. A shocked Cassie watched on, as Ross may now frame her for the incident.
The episode leaves viewers questioning if this will lead to a character's exit from Weatherfield.
