Tracy Barlow was rushed to hospital on Thursday night’s episode of Coronation Street after new love interest Ross turned on her. The legendary character, played by Kate Ford since 2002, was left collapsed in front of her daughter Amy after Ross spiked her drink with crushed painkillers.
Cassie’s plot backfires
Cassie Plummer, Tyrone Dobbs’ long-lost biological mum, had tried to spike Ross’s drink first to get rid of him. However, Ross knew what she was doing and later pinned her against a wall, threatening to kill her if she ever came between him and Tyrone again.
Proving he does not really love Tracy, Ross spiked her drink with the crushed painkillers instead. Tracy collapsed in front of Amy, who immediately called an ambulance. Outside on the street, residents gathered in disbelief as Amy insisted on going to the hospital with her mother.
Fans react on social media
Fans took to social media after realising the extent of Ross’s evil ways. One said: “Ross better not go kill Cassie now.” Another wrote: “Was expecting Cassie to be smarter than that, she should have just crushed the pills at Tyrone’s house and then went over to Ken to slip it in Ross’s cup!”
A third added: “But looks like Cassie will be murdered by Ross, yet another nasty character to set up home on the cobbles. Like we don't already have more than enough villains in.”
Tracy’s history
Tracy was born on-screen in 1977 to Deirdre and Ray Langton and later adopted by Ken. She was jailed for murdering Charlie Stubbs in 2007 but returned to Weatherfield in 2010. Her latest romance with Ross has already proven dangerous.
