Tom Allen Lands First Role Since Leaving The Apprentice: You're Fired

Tom Allen has announced his first project since stepping down as host of The Apprentice: You're Fired. The 42-year-old comedian will join the cast of the Olivier award-winning musical Titanique, playing the role of Ruth from March 4 to April 12 at the Criterion Theatre in London.

Allen confirmed his exit from the BBC Two spin-off show on January 14 after six years, saying he wanted to 'embark on new voyages'. He revealed his new role on Heart Breakfast on Monday (26.01.26), telling hosts Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston: 'I'm very excited to tell you that I am going to be joining the company of Titanique! It's so ridiculous fun.'

The comedian, who will play Ruth—the uptight mother of Rose—said he has been taking vocal, singing and movement lessons ahead of rehearsals. He admitted to feeling 'excited and a bit nervous' about joining the cast of the 90-minute 'high camp spoof' of the 1997 film Titanic, narrated by a fictionalised Celine Dion.

Allen praised his fellow cast members, including Luke Bayer as Jack, Rose Galbraith as Rose, and Astrid Harris as Celine Dion, noting: 'All of the performers are amazing singers... they're brilliant singers and dancers. So I don't want to walk in there and then just not know what I'm doing.'

Following Allen's departure, the BBC Two series has been revamped as The Apprentice: Unfinished Business, fronted by Angela Scanlon. Allen thanked Lord Sugar, Karren Brady and Tim Campbell for their support during his tenure.
