Plot details for the new series

The synopsis teases: "When tragedy strikes in the prison, Marie-Louise clashes with veteran officer Bailey, who knows more about the circumstances that led to this major incident than he is letting on."

The third outing follows the second series, which starred Jodie Whittaker and Bella Ramsey.

The Split Up finale airs this evening

Before Time returns, the final episode of The Split Up, the BBC spin-off of The Split, airs this evening, Monday, October 5. The series has built up to Aria Kishan (Ritu Arya) and Neal's (Danny Ashok) pending nuptials, with Aria uncertain about what she wants after rekindling her romance with former flame Luke (Dimitri Leonidas). Her father Dhruv Kishan (Sanjeev Bhaskar) is unlikely to make the decision easy, as Neal is now involved in the family business.

The Split Up is available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
