The BBC legal drama The Split Up features three former Coronation Street favourites in its cast. The series, a spin-off from Nicola Walker's The Split, follows a British South Asian family law firm, The Kishans, based in Manchester.
The show aired its third episode on Sunday evening, with the entire series also available to stream on BBC iPlayer. The six-part series delves into "the high-stakes world of Manchester's divorce law circuit, where one family of lawyers, the Kishans, reigns supreme," the BBC has previously revealed.
Cast and Roles
Ritu Arya stars as Aria Kishan, an ambitious lawyer preparing to step into her father Dhruv's (Sanjeev Bhaskar) shoes and assume leadership of the family practice. While managing formidable professional pressures, she and her two siblings are simultaneously grappling with the devastating loss of their mother, Raina.
At the same time, Aria's sister Maya (Aysha Kala) finds herself caught up in her own divorce proceedings, while Aria stands on the brink of marriage — until a former flame reappears, compelling her to question everything. As deeply hidden family secrets gradually emerge, the Kishans' meticulously built world begins to fall apart, with everything they cherish hanging in the balance.
Coronation Street Stars in the Cast
Debbie Rush, who played Anna Windass from 2008 to 2018, plays legal secretary Linda Taylor. Angela Lonsdale plays lawyer Eleanor in the BBC show. Corrie fans will recall that Angela, 58, played police officer Emma on Coronation Street from 2000 to 2003, where she was paired with the beloved character Curly Watts.
Charlie de Melo, who played Imran Habeeb from 2017 to 2022, plays Vivek Gupta in The Split Up.

Taking to Instagram, Anna Windass star Debbie has shared pictures from her time on the show, praising the "amazing" cast. Former Corrie star Angela has also shared snaps, praising the "brilliant bunch" she worked with, adding over the show: "Get all over it! You'll love it!"
