The glitterball dreams of former The Apprentice star Thomas Skinner came to an abrupt end on Sunday night as he became the fourth celebrity to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing 2023.
In a tense results show that had viewers on the edge of their seats, Skinner and his professional partner Dianne Buswell found themselves in the dreaded dance-off against Love Island star Zara McDermott and her partner Graziano Di Prima.
The Fateful Dance-Off
Both couples performed their routines again in a last-ditch attempt to impress the judges and secure their place in the competition. Skinner and Buswell reprised their American Smooth to "I Won't Dance" from Movie Week, while McDermott and Di Prima delivered their Charleston to "You Can't Stop the Beat" from Hairspray.
The judges' decision was unanimous, with all three panel members voting to save McDermott and Di Prima. Head Judge Shirley Ballas explained their reasoning, stating that while both couples had given their all, they had to base their decision on the best technique and performance on the night.

Speaking after the elimination, an emotional Thomas Skinner reflected on his Strictly journey: "This has been the best experience of my life. I've loved every single second of it. To Dianne, thank you for being the most amazing teacher and friend. You've put up with all my nonsense and taught me how to dance!"
Professional partner Dianne Buswell fought back tears as she paid tribute to her celebrity partner: "Thomas, you are an absolute joy. You came in here with no experience and you've worked so hard. I'm so proud of what you've achieved and the entertainer you've become."

The elimination leaves eleven couples remaining in the competition, all vying for the coveted Glitterball Trophy. The pressure continues to mount as the dancers face increasingly challenging routines and higher expectations from the judges.
