The Voice UK is back on screens tonight (Saturday, October 3) after being taken off air last week in a schedule shake-up. The ITV singing competition returns at 8.50pm on ITV1 and ITVX, later than its usual slot, as the coaches continue the blind auditions.
Sir Tom Jones, Kelly Rowland, will.i.am, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher will all be back on the panel as they pick singers for their teams. The synopsis for this weekend's show says: "Emma Willis hosts the spinning-chair singing contest, with coaches Tom Jones, Will.i.am, Kelly Rowland, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones assessing more acts."
Coaches face tough choices with eight places per team
With only eight places available on each team, the mentors must choose carefully as they search for the UK's most exciting singing talent. The Rewind button gives them the chance to bring back an artist they regret letting go.
The fourteenth series of the competition returned in August, with Kelly Rowland replacing LeAnn Rimes as coach. At the time, the former X Factor judge said she "can't wait to hear all the new talent and to go to battle for my team. Let's go!"
Rewind button and series 15 changes
The latest series introduces a major change to help coaches who are slow to press the button during blind auditions. The Rewind button allows each coach to change their mind about a contestant who has left the stage without a chair turn, inviting the act back to join their team.
It has been confirmed that Emma Willis won't return for series 15 next year, with Stacey Solomon and Alesha Dixon taking over presenting duties. Sir Tom, Tom and Danny also won't return as coaches, with rapper Aitch and Cheryl joining the panel alongside will.i.am and Kelly.
The decision to drop Sir Tom has drawn criticism from viewers, with some fans demanding ITV bring back the Welsh singer. A petition titled Reinstate Sir Tom Jones on The Voice UK has attracted over 69,000 signatures.
The Voice UK continues Saturday, October 3 on ITV1 and ITVX at 8.50pm.
