The Voice UK fans complain about Emma Willis on ITV and BBC

The Voice UK returned to ITV screens on Saturday, October 3, after being pulled from schedules last weekend, but viewers were quick to voice the same complaint within seconds of the show starting.

The episode aired at the later time of 8.50pm and saw judges Sir Tom Jones, Kelly Rowland, will.i.am, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher back on stage, with only eight places left on each team as more artists performed in the final round of blind auditions.

Familiar face on presenting duties

Host Emma Willis appeared in pink and said: "It's the final round of the blind auditions and the coaches' last shots to complete their teams." She then welcomed the mentors to their iconic red chairs.

But for many viewers, it was not the first time they had seen Emma that evening, having just watched the second live show of Strictly Come Dancing on rival channel BBC One. While Strictly is broadcast live, The Voice UK is pre-recorded, with the current series filmed last year.

Viewers react on X

Emma was announced earlier this year as one of the co-hosts for the BBC dancing competition, alongside Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe, and last week marked their first live show, during which The Voice UK was dropped for a week.

Taking to X this weekend, one person wrote: "Bit of Emma Willis overkill this evening #Strictly #TheVoice." Another said: "Oh cmon do we really need see EmmaWillis on itv and bbc at the same f**** time. Is she the only presenter available!"

A third added: "Emma Willis running from Elstree to #TheVoiceUK studios!" A fourth also shared: "#TheVoiceUK just put bbc two on and emma willis is playing for scotland."

Emma's upcoming roles

The 50-year-old presenter will also return to her role on ITV's Cooking With the Stars, hosting alongside Tom Allen on the sixth season.

However, she will not be on The Voice UK for much longer, as it was previously announced she will step down from hosting duties. After hosting the show since 2014, Emma is set to be replaced for the next series by Alesha Dixon and Stacey Solomon. The Voice UK can also be streamed on ITVX.
