The psychological thriller The Rapture has landed on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Adapted from Liz Jensen’s 2009 novel, the series follows a teenager accused of killing her mother who claims she can predict disasters. Filmed entirely in Wales, it stars Ruth Madeley, India Amarteifio, Sam Hazeldine, Iwan Rheon, Jack Farthing, and Ruth Jones.
Plot Synopsis
After a car accident kills her husband and leaves her paralysed, psychologist Dr Gabs Fox takes a job at a psychiatric hospital. She is assigned 17-year-old Bethany Krall, who was sectioned for murdering her mother. Bethany’s father is the leader of the Faith Way spiritual movement. Bethany claims to see visions of the future through sketches of disasters, but Gabs is sceptical. As strange connections emerge, Gabs must question whether Bethany is telling the truth or being manipulated.
