The Night Manager Series 2 Filming Locations Revealed

After a decade-long hiatus, BBC One's The Night Manager has returned with its second series, featuring Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Jonathan Pine. The new episodes were filmed entirely on location, with no studio shots, offering viewers an immersive experience across several countries.

The series begins with Pine in London, where his flat overlooks the River Thames on the South Bank. Other UK locations include Richmond-upon-Thames for a riverside rendezvous, Brompton Cemetery, and Wellington College in Berkshire. A scene also takes place at Three Cliffs Bay in Wales' Gower Peninsula, known for its limestone cliffs and sand dunes.

Colombia serves as a primary backdrop, with Medellin chosen for its opulent and visually exciting contrast. The city, once labelled the 'murder capital of the world' due to Pablo Escobar's cartel, has transformed into a safer, vibrant metropolis. Filming also occurred in Cartagena, where the Casa Pestagua boutique hotel—an 18th-century colonial palace with 16 rooms—features prominently.

Spain doubled for other locations: Tenerife stood in for Syria, and Hostel de La Gavina in Costa Brava became the Medellin Gun Club. Torre Melina Gran Melia in Barcelona, a five-star hotel with nearly 400 rooms, also appears. Additional filming took place in Fuerteventura, Madrid, the Spanish Pyrenees, and Argentina.

For series one, Morocco's Es Saadi Palace in Marrakech substituted for Cairo, Egypt. The luxury hotel, which has hosted the Rolling Stones and Princess Margaret, features a large lagoon pool and extensive spa. Switzerland's Riffelalp Hotel was also used in the first season.
