ITV has secured a major streaming coup, announcing that the acclaimed supernatural period drama The Nevers will be available to watch for free on its ITVX platform from 1 February.
A Supernatural Saga Arrives on ITVX
Originally airing on Sky Atlantic and HBO back in 2021, the 12-episode series is set to find a new and wider audience in the UK. The show is set in a meticulously recreated Victorian London in 1896, a world forever changed by a mysterious supernatural event.
This event grants extraordinary, and sometimes disturbing, abilities to a portion of the population, predominantly women. This newly empowered group becomes known as 'the Touched' and quickly finds itself persecuted and in grave danger.
An Ensemble Cast Led by British Talent
The series boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring some of Britain's finest acting talent. James Norton takes on the role of the morally complex aristocrat Hugo Swan, who runs a secret club and exploits the Touched for entertainment.
He is joined by Eleanor Tomlinson, famed for her role in Poldark, who portrays the gentle but resilient singer Mary Brighton. The central narrative follows the formidable widow Amalia True, played by Laura Donnelly, and the brilliant inventor Penance Adair, played by Ann Skelly, as they strive to protect their kind.
The extensive supporting cast includes Tom Riley, Olivia Williams, Rochelle Neil, Amy Manson, Nick Frost, and Ben Chaplin, among others.
