Channel 5's thriller The Game is officially returning for a second season, as confirmed earlier this year. The broadcaster's recent social media activity, featuring lead star Jason Watkins, has reignited fan excitement.

The first season followed retired detective Huw Miller (Watkins) and the unsolved Ripton Stalker case. When a seemingly friendly new neighbour, Patrick (Robson Green), moved in, Huw became convinced he was the serial killer. The season culminated in a psychological chess match between the two men.
Season Two Details
The second season is set a year after the first. Huw, having survived a brutal stabbing, believes he has escaped Patrick's grip, who is now in prison. He retreats with his wife Alice to an isolated house by the sea, but soon realizes peace is an illusion.
Returning cast includes Jason Watkins, Robson Green, and Sunetra Sarker. New cast members include Sonny Ashbourne Serkis, Tanya Franks, Dominic Rowan, Amanda Bright, Richard Pepple, Carl Rice, and Connor Calland.
Toby Frow (Silent Witness, Death in Paradise) returns as director, and Tom Grieves (Being Human) returns as writer. Filming began earlier this year, and the drama is expected to air in 2026.
