A 20-year-old contestant named Eden has stunned viewers of The Chase by winning a record-breaking £75,000 solo prize. The episode, a rerun aired on Thursday night, saw host Bradley Walsh welcome four players, but only Eden remained after the others were eliminated by Chaser Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis.
Eden, from Birmingham, opted for the highest amount in the cash builder and then answered 18 questions correctly in the final chase, outperforming Darragh. Bradley Walsh exclaimed: 'That is the highest ever single win in TV quiz show history - and you're only 20!'
The Chaser himself praised Eden, noting that the pushbacks were vital to his victory. Eden said he planned to 'just look at it in my bank account.' Viewers took to Twitter to celebrate, with one calling him 'a bloody legend' and another saying the show is 'the best quiz on TV.'
