In a candid new interview, Oscar-nominated actress and singer Teyana Taylor has disclosed that she is fervently pleading with acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson to develop a sequel to the award-winning thriller One Battle After Another. The 35-year-old performer, who earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her breakout role as the far-left revolutionary Perfidia Beverly Hills, confirmed that discussions about a potential spin-off are actively underway.

Speaking exclusively to IndieWire, Taylor emphasized the seriousness of the talks, stating, "The conversations are very, very real." She elaborated, "I want to give everybody confirmation that I am currently begging [Anderson] to give us that. I'm begging him to give us that." The proposed sequel would explore the life of her character nearly two decades after the events of the original film, which has garnered significant critical acclaim and numerous awards.
Taylor humorously noted that she frequently makes light-hearted appeals to Anderson, saying, "Here and there, I make little jokes with Paul. I'm like, 'We need to see what Perfidia did in those 16 years.'" The original film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Taylor, and Chase Infiniti, follows a revolutionary group, French 75, as they combat a military force led by Sean Penn's corrupt white-supremacist officer. In the narrative, Taylor's character betrays her group to the military before abandoning her partner, Pat (DiCaprio), and her daughter, Willa (Infiniti).

Is she going to find her mommy?' I love that it's still hopeful, and it's room for a little part two in there somewhere."
