Netflix has announced that Sweet Magnolias season 5 will premiere on 11th June 2026. The streamer also released a first-look image of the three leads—Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott), and Helen (Heather Headley)—in New York's Central Park.
The New York setting follows season 4's cliffhanger, in which Maddie was offered a publishing job in the city. Showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson said: 'We are thrilled to let the Magnolias take Manhattan. Not only is this adventure huge fun, it’s also an opportunity to explore the facets of their relationships in a new context.'
The series, based on Sherryl Woods' books, was renewed for a fifth season in April. New cast members include Jamie-Lynn Sigler as Nell Winters, a writer who befriends Maddie, along with Janice Wesley, Courtney Grace, and John Gabriel Rodriquez.
All four previous seasons are available to stream on Netflix, which costs from £5.99 per month.
