Good Morning Britain star Susanna Reid has announced she will be taking a break from the breakfast show. The presenter delivered the news on Thursday's programme (April 3) alongside co-host Ed Balls.
Towards the end of the show, Susanna told viewers: 'See you in a couple of weeks, I'm going to go and spend some time off. I will be back, do not fear.' Ed Balls added: 'Susanna, we'll see you in a couple of weeks time.'
While it has not been confirmed who will replace Susanna during her absence, regular hosts such as Ranvir Singh, Kate Garraway, or Charlotte Hawkins are likely candidates. Susanna has been a mainstay on GMB since joining ITV in 2014, previously working on BBC Breakfast and other programmes.
During Thursday's show, Susanna also sparked controversy with a comment about Meghan Markle. Discussing US tariffs, she said: 'Right, the one question we haven't asked is how is this going to affect you if you've bought products from Meghan Markle's new range.' The remark drew criticism from viewers on social media.
