Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans has announced his split from fiancée Liz Brookes, just weeks after proposing to her during a romantic trip to Morocco. The Welsh opera singer described the relationship as 'not healthy' during a Facebook Live stream on June 2, and admitted he is already attempting to date again.
Speculation about the couple's separation began last month when fans noticed Evans had deleted his engagement post from Instagram and unfollowed Brookes on social media. The engagement had been announced in June with a series of photos from Morocco, including a close-up of the ring, captioned with a humorous note about 'no take-backs'.
Insiders told the Daily Mail that the breakup was instigated by the pressure of Evans's new business ventures, including opening a restaurant in Carmarthen and launching his own radio show based there. The source said the couple had split before and reconciled, but given Evans's active attempts to date and public description of the relationship, it appears this time the split is permanent.
Brookes, who runs an events company in Wales, first met Evans in 2024 when he performed at a corporate function. She was a regular supporter during his Strictly run and had been praised by Evans for helping him get fitter before the show.
