Sinead Skinner, wife of former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Tom Skinner, has spoken publicly for the first time about the aftermath of his affair. She revealed that she ordered him out of their family home after he confessed to a two-week fling with a beauty clinic boss.
Tom, 34, known for his appearance on The Apprentice, admitted the infidelity one week before his debut on the BBC One dance show. He described it as 'the biggest mistake of my life' and said he met Amy-Lucy Rourke, 35, in a pub, where she offered him cosmetic slimming treatments.
Sinead explained that the news left her devastated and that she initially told only one friend. 'It was one of the worst days of my life,' she said. However, the couple eventually reconciled, and she said they are now 'stronger than ever' and have welcomed twin daughters, in addition to their son.
Rourke, however, contested Tom's account, claiming the relationship lasted three months and that he called her the 'love of his life.' She told the Daily Mail that Tom had said they would be 'Mr and Mrs Skinner,' which she described as 'traumatising.'
Sinead said reliving the scandal during Tom's Strictly stint was 'hell' and 'horrendous.' Tom and his professional partner Amy Dowden were the first couple eliminated from this year's series, losing to Chris Robshaw and Nadiya Bychkova in the dance-off. Tom thanked Dowden in his exit interview, saying she was 'a different class.'
