Strictly to honour WWII women with Remembrance Sunday tribute
Strictly honours WWII women on Remembrance Sunday

Strictly Come Dancing will mark Remembrance Sunday with a tribute to the women whose lives were transformed by the Second World War. The BBC competition's live show airs on Saturday evening as the remaining couples return to the ballroom floor.

Because the results show coincides with Remembrance Sunday on November 8, the programme is marking the occasion with a special routine inspired by the Monument to the Women of World War II.

Tribute Performance Details

Set to Peter Gabriel's "Heroes," the dance transports viewers to the 1940s using period staging and authentic attire. Male dancers will appear in military uniforms, while female dancers showcase pre-war fashions alongside the practical clothing worn as women joined the workforce.

Choreographed by Lizzie Gough, the sequence begins with British soldiers departing for the front lines before turning its focus to the experiences of women on the home front.

Saturday's Routines Confirmed

Ahead of Saturday's main broadcast, the full list of routines has been confirmed. Former Love Island winner Dani Dyer and partner Nikita Kuzmin will dance an American Smooth to Harry Connick Jr.'s "It Had to Be You."

Australian singer Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdrington are set to Cha-Cha to Jennifer Lopez's "Let's Get Loud," while EastEnders actress Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola perform a Rumba to Coldplay's "Yellow."

Olympian Tabby Stoecker and Mark Karmalita take on a Paso Doble to Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole," while dog trainer Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley perform a Couple's Choice routine to Peter Gabriel's "The Book of Love."

Love Island star Cach Mercer and Maddie Ingoldsby present a Waltz to Mulaa Joans' "That Ain't You," and House of the Dragon star Bethany Antonia partners with Nancy Xu for a Foxtrot to Leona Lewis's "Bleeding Love."

Content creator John Nellis and Katya Jones will dance a Salsa to Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers. Rounding out the weekend's lineup, Big Brother host Will Best and Dianne Buswell will deliver a Quickstep to Maroon 5's "This Love."

Sunday's Results Show

Sunday's episode will feature a musical performance by American singer-songwriter Gregory Porter alongside the Strictly professional dancers, leading up to the dance-off where one couple will be sent home.

Earlier this week, producers announced that actress Jaime Winstone sustained an injury and has received a bye into next week's competition, where she and partner Carlos Gu hope to return.

Strictly Come Dancing airs live on Saturday at 6.40pm, with the results show following on Sunday at 7.10pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
