Strictly Come Dancing has released their launch trailer for the upcoming 20th anniversary series, set to air on BBC One on Wednesday 4 September at 7.29pm. The trailer showcases the professional dancers in a lively routine, inviting viewers to board the 'Strictly bus' ahead of the 22nd series debut later this month.
Choreographed by Jason Gilkison, the trailer and launch show dance number feature a medley of 1990s hits, including Vengaboys' 'We Like To Party!', Corona's 'Baby Baby', and Steps' '5,6,7,8' among others. The routine promises a sparkly, showstopping start to the series.
During the launch show, the professional dancers will perform a special tribute to welcome Amy Dowden MBE back to the ballroom. The celebrity contestants for 2024 will be revealed and paired with their professional partners, with audiences getting a first glimpse of their dancing skills in a group routine.
The multi-award-winning show, produced by BBC Studios, will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn. Marking two decades of dance, the series promises extra glitz, glamour, and unforgettable performances.
