Netflix has released the final trailer for the fifth and last season of Stranger Things, just one day before the finale airs in the US. The trailer, which runs for over two minutes, features a montage of Eleven and Will Byers, reminding fans of the characters' journey over the years.
Fans have taken to social media to express their sadness at the end of the series. One commented: 'It's really the end of an era, this is goodbye.' Another wrote: 'BRO I'M GOING TO CRY.' A third added: 'The final trailer for the series ever... I'm going to miss this amazing show.'
The trailer begins with Hopper telling Eleven: 'I need you to fight one last time. Life has been so unfair to you... But you never let it break you. Fight for the days on the other side of this. Fight for a world beyond Hawkins. Let's end this kid.'
It also shows Dustin Henderson mourning a serious loss, as the gang witnesses two worlds about to collide from the Upside Down. One fan commented: 'It's like seeing my childhood fade away but thank you Stranger Things for an amazing 10 years with this show.'
The series, created by The Duffer Brothers, first aired in July 2016 and has received critical acclaim throughout its run. The Stranger Things season 5 finale airs on Netflix on New Year's Day in the UK.
