Fans of Netflix's Stranger Things have expressed disappointment with the first part of the fifth and final season, claiming that two beloved supporting characters are missing. The season, which launched earlier this week, quickly became the most-watched title on the streaming service among UK subscribers.
The characters in question are Argyle and Suzie, both of whom played pivotal roles in the fourth season. Argyle, played by Eduardo Franco, was introduced as a friend of Jonathan and a delivery driver for Surfer Boy Pizza. He helped the group rescue Eleven and create a sensory deprivation tank to fight Vecna. Suzie, the long-distance girlfriend of Dustin, assisted with a long-range radio and helped track down Eleven's location.
Neither character appears in the first four episodes of season five, nor have they been mentioned by other characters. This has prompted a thread on the Stranger Things subreddit, where one user posted a photo of Argyle with the caption: 'Bro went to pick some mushrooms and never came back.' Another fan wrote: 'I'm so incredibly sad he's not in this season. I hope they bring Argyle back for the very last episode.'
A third commenter expressed hope that the Duffer brothers, the show's creators, would address the characters' whereabouts, as they have promised no loose ends. Some fans have speculated that side characters like Argyle and Suzie may appear in the season finale as part of an epilogue after the battle against Vecna concludes.
