After nearly a decade, the curtain has fallen on one of Netflix's most successful series - Stranger Things. The much-anticipated finale was released on the streaming platform in the early hours of January 1, bringing the fifth season to a close.
Despite an epic two-hour final episode, there could still be more to come from the universe of Hawkins. Creators the Duffer brothers have confirmed plans for a spin-off, which will be an entirely fresh concept set within the same universe.
Matt Duffer said the spin-off will maintain the same brand and narrative style as the original show but will feature new characters and a different world. He added that it will not expand into an insanely convoluted mythology, unlike the Star Wars franchise.
Another project in the works is Stranger Things: Tales From '85, an animated series bridging the gap between the second and third seasons. It will follow Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin and Max as they face new horrors from the Upside Down.
