Steph McGovern is reportedly poised to return to BBC screens as the new lead host of Crimewatch Live, following the cancellation of her Channel 4 show Steph's Packed Lunch last year. The former BBC Breakfast presenter will team up with Rav Wilding when the programme makes its comeback to BBC daytime next month.
Crimewatch Live returns on Monday, October 6 for a three-week series aimed at helping solve some of the UK's most significant unsolved cases. Each episode will feature reconstruction appeals, 'Wanted Faces', and focus on recent crimes from high-profile murders to robberies and assaults.
The series, which has been running for four decades, has broadcast over 700 episodes featuring more than 7,000 police appeals. Notable cases include the murder of Julie Dart in 1991, the abduction of Stephanie Slater in 1992, and the killing of James Bulger in 1993.
McGovern previously announced on Instagram that she has three new TV projects in the pipeline, including a brand new series on BBC One daytime and another on BBC Two evenings, though she did not reveal specifics. She expressed excitement about the upcoming shows, stating she is 'absolutely buzzing'.
