The upbeat Star Trek prequel series, Strange New Worlds, has finally beamed down to ITV1, offering Trekkies a fresh look at life aboard the USS Enterprise before Captain Kirk. Originally debuting on Paramount+ in 2022, season one is now being broadcast in double-bill chunks on the UK channel.
Featuring younger versions of beloved characters, the show stars Ethan Peck as a fresh-faced Spock and Celia Rose Gooding as Uhura. The opening episode sees a furloughed Captain Pike, played by Anson Mount, return to the Enterprise to lead a risky rescue mission.
