Rob Bent, a carpenter known for his work on Stacey Solomon's Sort Your Life Out, is joining the cast of BBC One's Money for Nothing for its upcoming 19th series.
Bent will appear alongside Sarah Moore and Jacqui Joseph, helping to transform discarded furniture and forgotten finds into designer-worthy pieces. He is also known for his appearances on Alan Carr's Interior Design Masters.
Bent's Excitement for the New Role
"Joining Money for Nothing is a real honour," Bent said. "I've always admired the creativity of the show and the incredible transformations the makers achieve, so to now be part of that team is really exciting."
He added: "I love giving old furniture and forgotten items a second chance, and it's amazing to show viewers that with a bit of imagination and craftsmanship, something destined for the skip can become a piece to be proud of."
Returning Makers and Sarah's Comments
The new series, which begins later this month, will reunite Sarah and Jacqui with some of the show's most popular makers, including artist blacksmith Kev Paxton, designer Rupert Blanchard, sisters Katie Stone and Sophie Lawrence, sustainable furniture expert Sarah Peterson, and woodworker Bruce Faulseit.
Sarah reflected on the show's evolution: "When the series first launched, shopping at your local recycling centre wasn't really a thing. Fast forward more than 10 years and re-use shops have become treasure troves for bargain hunters looking for quality furniture with character."
She said it was "brilliant to welcome Rob to the team as we continue inspiring viewers to think twice before throwing something away."
Sort Your Life Out Background
Sort Your Life Out, which premiered in 2021, sees Stacey Solomon helping families declutter their homes by upcycling and repurposing their belongings. Rob has been part of the team since its launch, and the show has aired six series so far.
Money for Nothing returns on August 31 on BBC One.
