The Songs of Praise Big School Assembly sing-along is heading to Gateshead, where the free mass event will be filmed for a special episode of the BBC programme. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7 at The Glasshouse.
Tickets are available from LostinTV and are completely free. Doors open at 6pm, with the show running from 7pm until 10pm at the latest. There is no minimum age to attend, but children aged 17 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Aled Jones to host Gateshead assembly
Aled Jones, who presents Songs of Praise, will host the event, joined by special guests who will share their own memories of school. The Gateshead date follows last year's Big School Assembly, which took over Bolton's Victoria Hall.
Shine Jesus Shine named favourite assembly song
Last year, Songs of Praise launched a search for the nation's favourite assembly song. Shine Jesus Shine took the top spot, beating Give Me Oil in My Lamp and Lord of the Dance in the final three.
