Saturday Night Live UK will return for its second season on Saturday, September 12, with all 11 cast members from the first season coming back. The show will air weekly on September 19, September 26, October 10, October 17, and October 24, with additional episodes scheduled for early 2027. Tickets for live studio recordings will be available via a ballot starting at 10am on Friday, August 14.
Extended second season
Sky previously announced that the second season would be an extended series, with 12 episodes instead of eight. The sketch comedy show, which debuted earlier this year, has been praised for its British take on the iconic US format, which has been running for 50 years.
The returning cast includes Weekend Update presenters Ania Magliano and Paddy Young, alongside Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, and Emma Sidi.
Guest hosts and tickets
According to Sky, the series will again feature a different celebrity host and musical guest for every episode, along with topical sketches, live music performances, and the Weekend Update segment. Season one guest stars included Riz Ahmed, Hannah Waddingham, Tina Fey, Ncuti Gatwa, and Nicola Coughlan.
Fans can apply for tickets from 10am on Friday, August 14 via the ticket ballot. The show also offers the chance to watch the rehearsal as well as the final show, doubling the opportunity to attend.
Filming location
SNL UK is filmed at the historic Television Centre in West London, which was the BBC headquarters from 1960 to 2013. The studio, TC1, is also home to The Graham Norton Show, Mock the Week, and The Last Leg.
Metro contributor Adam Miller, who attended a recording during Jack Whitehall's episode in season one, described the experience as a 'slick operation' and an 'unbelievable feat of television to witness it happen before your eyes'. He noted that sketches are written, rewritten, or scrapped right up until the final hour before going live, with costumes made to order and sets designed at lightning speed.
