Phil Dunning's Middlesbrough-set LGBTQ+ comedy Smoggie Queens returns to BBC Three tonight at 10pm, bringing more endearingly lo-fi hijinks from Keith's World of Carpets. The gang throws a coming-out party for Stewart, but chaos ensues when Keith unveils his terrifying homebrew, fermented for 37 years, sending everything into a psychedelic tailspin.
The timing couldn't be worse for Dickie (played by Dunning), whose ex turns up unexpectedly. While the show never quite reaches uproarious heights, viewers can expect to snigger happily throughout the episode.
Elsewhere on TV tonight, Fred Sirieix plays Cupid in a new series of First Dates on Channel 4 at 10pm, featuring a former mayor with a puerile sense of humour and an earnest activist seeking a kindred spirit. On BBC One at 10.40pm, St Denis Medical continues with Alex facing a bitter revelation about her old mentor, Nurse Pam.
