Sir Ian McKellen is set to make an unexpected appearance during Sunday's Strictly Come Dancing results show as part of the programme's Halloween celebrations. The 87-year-old actor will lend his voice to a spooky group performance inspired by Tame Impala's Dracula, delivering an extract from Bram Stoker's famous horror novel at the end of the routine.
Pre-recorded performance details
The pre-recorded performance, filmed earlier this year, centres on Strictly professionals Alexis Warr and Nikita Kuzmin embarking on a first date. The evening takes an unexpected twist when Kuzmin is exposed as a vampire, prompting the rest of the professional dancers to join the action.
Meanwhile, viewers can expect a varied selection of Halloween-inspired performances during Saturday's live show. Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu will take to the dancefloor with a jive to Fifth Harmony's I'm In Love With A Monster, while Dani Dyer and Nikita Kuzmin have chosen My Favourite Things by Rogers and Hammerstein for their Viennese Waltz.
Saturday's performances
Elsewhere, Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu will perform a salsa to Filthy/Gorgeous by Scissor Sisters. Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola are preparing a Charleston to Crazy Stupid Love by Cheryl and Tinie Tempah, while Tabby Stoecker and Mark Karmalita will quickstep to Little Mix's Black Magic.
Cach Mercer and Maddie Ingoldsby have selected Pas De Deux by Michael Abels for their Argentine tango. Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley will bring some samba to the ballroom with Coconut by Harry Nilsson, while John Nellis and Katya Jones will perform a tango to Dance… by Slayyyter.
The remaining performances will see Lawrence Robb and Jowita Przystal dance the tango to Ray Parker Jr's Ghostbusters, Will Best and Dianne Buswell perform their Couple's Choice routine to Nu Flow by Big Brovaz, and Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdrington take on a Viennese Waltz to Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers.
Results show changes
Sunday's programme will also welcome singer Becky Hill for a musical performance. There will be another major talking point during the results show, as the competition introduces its first-ever dance-off involving three couples. Unlike the traditional format, the judges will not be asked to decide which couple to save. Instead, they will each vote for the pair they believe should be eliminated, with one couple leaving the competition.
Last week, viewers said goodbye to Shaun Wright-Phillips and Alexis Warr as they lost out in the dance off with Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu following their jive to Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande's 'Faith'. Saturday's Strictly Come Dancing live show begins at 6.30pm, followed by the results programme on Sunday at 7.10pm. Both will be broadcast on BBC One and available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
