Silent Witness star David Caves has hinted at a 30th series of the BBC crime drama after the current series concluded on Tuesday night. The actor, who plays Dr Nikki Alexander's husband and colleague Jack Hodgson, took to X (formerly Twitter) to thank fans and tease future episodes.
In his post, Caves wrote: 'Can't believe that's it for another series. To everyone who has watched and supported - thank you! Here's to the stories we've told - and to those still to come...' He tagged co-stars Emilia Fox, Francesca Mills and Maggie Steed in the message.
The 29th series finale, a two-part episode titled 'Shame', saw Nikki Alexander (Emilia Fox) drugged and in peril as the team investigated the apparent suicide of a British-Chinese pro-democracy activist. Evidence soon suggested a more sinister plot.
Further evidence of a 30th series emerged last month when Bodenham Arboretum in Worcestershire posted on Instagram that it had been used as a base camp for filming 'for the 30th series' of Silent Witness. The show has been a ratings success since its debut in 1996.
Silent Witness airs on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
