Viewers of BBC drama Silent Witness have voiced concerns that Harriet Maven, played by Maggie Steed, may be facing a dementia storyline. The fears arose after the character appeared disoriented in recent episodes, losing her way to work.
The 29th series of the long-running forensic crime drama continues on BBC One, with the latest two-part story, The Enemy Within, airing this week. In the episodes, the Lyell team investigated a fatal stabbing in Birmingham that initially appeared racially motivated.
As the investigation progressed, racial tensions escalated, while Jack Hodgson (David Caves) discovered his new gym friends had ulterior motives. Meanwhile, Kit Brooks (Fran Mills) began questioning her relationship with DC Jonno Magath.
In Wednesday's episode, Jack was alarmed to receive an AI-generated video depicting him making false statements about an asylum seeker. The episode ended with Jack looking worried as the credits rolled.
