Si King, one half of the Hairy Bikers, is set to embark on his first solo television project following the death of his co-star Dave Myers in February 2024. The 58-year-old will front a four-part series titled Britain’s Favourite Railway Stations with Si King, which begins on January 8 on Channel 4's More4.
The programme will see King explore the UK's network of over 2,600 train stations, uncovering hidden worlds where heritage, technology and community converge. The series is produced by Welsh company Yeti Television and also features Siddy Holloway and Damion Burrows.
This comes after King joined ITV's This Morning as a regular chef in January 2024, and following a final Hairy Bikers programme, The Hairy Bikers: You'll Never Walk Alone, which aired in December 2024.
Speaking to The Times magazine, King reflected on his grief, noting that he still instinctively looks for Myers when riding a bike. He described grief as "very odd" and said it brings a "huge mix of emotions" including anger, frustration, sadness and disappointment. He prefers to focus on the highs of their friendship rather than the loss.
King and Myers met on a film set in 1995 and built a successful career combining their love of food and motorcycles. Myers was diagnosed with cancer in 2022 and died aged 66 in February 2024. King himself suffered a brain aneurysm in 2014.
