Shay Mitchell, best known for her role in 'Pretty Little Liars', has been cast in Fox's upcoming 'Baywatch' reboot. The actress will portray Trina, a former lawyer who leaves a prestigious law firm to become a full-time lifeguard. According to the character description, Trina is the sharpest mind on Baywatch, passionate and dedicated, though she often second-guesses herself.
The reboot is set to air as part of Fox's 2026-2027 broadcast lineup. Stephen Amell leads the cast as Hobie Buchannon, the grown-up version of the original series' wild child, now a Baywatch captain. Jessica Belkin plays his daughter Charlie Vale, who arrives wanting to continue the family legacy. Other cast members include Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Brooks Nader, and Noah Beck. Original series star David Chokachi reprises his role as Cody Madison.
Matt Nix serves as showrunner, with executive producers including McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto, and Mike Horowitz. The series is a co-production between Fox and Fremantle. Filming will take place on Los Angeles beaches, supported by a $21.1 million California tax incentive.
Mitchell is also known for her roles in Netflix's 'You' and Hulu's 'Dollface', and is the founder of travel and lifestyle brand Béis. She is represented by Linden Entertainment, WME, and Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks.
