He was a traditional Romany Traveller, and Trewley credited him with giving her a proud cultural heritage. She said: “My dad died three years ago of cancer and it was the worst thing. I can't even talk, I feel like I’m in a different world.” Wiping away tears, she added: “It was absolutely horrible and I was really young, I was only 22 when it happened.”
