Scrubs Revival Stuns Fans as Filming Begins

Beloved medical sitcom Scrubs is officially making its return to television screens, sending fans into a frenzy of excitement and nostalgia. The show, which originally followed the lives of medical staff at Sacred Heart Hospital, has been off air for 15 years but is now in production for a tenth season scheduled to premiere in February 2026.

The Ageless Cast Turning Heads

The official Scrubs TikTok account sparked the excitement by sharing a video announcement that production had officially begun. While fans were thrilled about the reboot itself, they were completely taken aback by one remarkable detail - several of the returning cast members appear to have barely aged since their last appearance on the show.

Social media comments flooded in with fans expressing their astonishment. "It's like Sarah Chalke doesn't age at all," one fan remarked, while another added, "Sarah hasn't aged a day!" The compliments weren't limited to Chalke, with viewers also noting that Donald Faison seemed equally untouched by time.

Who's Returning and Who's Missing

The revival will see numerous original cast members reprise their iconic roles, including Zach Braff as JD, Sarah Chalke as Elliot Reid, Donald Faison as Christopher Turk, and Judy Reyes as Carla Espinosa.

Initially, fans expressed concern when John C. McGinley was absent from the announcement video, with many declaring they wouldn't want a reboot without his character, the famously cantankerous Dr Perry Cox. However, fans can breathe easy as McGinley is confirmed to be returning for the new season.

One character who won't be making a comeback is Ted Buckland, the hospital's hapless lawyer. The actor who portrayed him, Sam Lloyd, tragically passed away in 2020 at age 56. Fans have been vocal about how the show won't feel the same without him, with one viewer writing, "I don't know if I can watch it without Sam Lloyd."

A Bumpy Television History

The original Scrubs series aired on NBC for seven seasons between 2001 and 2008, becoming a cult classic. After NBC dropped the show, ABC picked it up for an eighth season that was intended to be the final chapter. However, a ninth season subtitled 'Med School' was commissioned in late 2009, moving the setting to a medical school and introducing new cast members before ABC officially cancelled the series in 2010.

While the original series is available to stream in the UK on Disney+, there has been no official announcement yet regarding where British fans will be able to watch the highly anticipated tenth season when it arrives next year.
