Rylan Clark has broken his silence after missing out on a presenting role on Strictly Come Dancing, revealing that he was considered but ultimately not selected. The BBC confirmed that Johannes Radebe, Josh Widdicombe, and Emma Willis will take over as the new presenters for the popular dance show, starting with the 2026 series.
Clark's Humorous Response
Following the announcement, Clark posted a humorous video on social media showing himself crying, but he also genuinely congratulated the newly appointed trio. In his message, he expressed his support and excitement for the new presenting line-up, stating, “This wasn’t my time.”
Strictly professional dancer Dianne Buswell and head judge Shirley Ballas were among those who shared their excitement and pride for the new presenters. Former hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who are set to depart the show in October 2025, also praised their successors, describing them as “the ultimate trio” and “magnificent”.
Looking Ahead
Clark’s reaction has been widely praised by fans and colleagues alike, highlighting his grace and good humour in the face of disappointment. The new presenting team is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the show when they debut in 2026.
