Roman Kemp has admitted he has not yet found 'true happiness', but believes starting a family will bring him that sense of fulfilment. The 32-year-old, best known for his role on The One Show, shared his thoughts during a conversation with singer Tom Grennan.
Kemp explained that he equates success with having children he can look at and think, 'We did alright'. He credited his parents, Martin Kemp and Shirlie Holliman, for never pressuring him to achieve specific goals, instead asking if he was happy. 'All of those types of things... would define success for me over anything,' he said.
The former Capital Breakfast host reflected on his work-life balance, which was a factor in his decision to leave the radio station. 'It's working out work-life balance... I didn't have it,' he admitted. When asked if he is currently happy, Kemp replied: 'Sometimes, but you're not human if you're happy all the time.'
Kemp, who often works alongside his father on shows like Celebrity Gogglebox, revealed his desire for future children to see their bond. 'The reason we work together is because I know how much I'm going to love my kids... watching that footage of me and their grandad,' he told Hello! magazine.
This comes amid rumours that Kemp is engaged to model Carmen Gaggero, with speculation sparked after she was seen wearing a ring on her engagement finger. Friends reportedly believe the star is ready to 'settle down'.
