Rob Brydon, the Welsh actor and comedian best known for his role as Uncle Bryn in Gavin and Stacey, is set to host a new BBC gameshow, Destination X. The 60-year-old will guide 13 strangers across Europe as they attempt to guess their location from mysterious clues, with a prize of £100,000 at stake. Brydon described the show as unlike anything he has done before, citing its scale and the opportunity to travel to fantastic locations.
Brydon's career spans decades, from early work in radio to starring roles in series like Human Remains, Marion and Geoff, and The Trip franchise. He has also presented Would I Lie To You? since 2009. In 2013, he was appointed an MBE for services to comedy and broadcasting. Reflecting on his new role, Brydon joked that he has become a 'fashion icon', taking inspiration from Claudia Winkleman's wardrobe on The Traitors.
