Prime Video is set to premiere its highly anticipated action series Ride or Die on Wednesday, July 15, starring Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso) as international assassin Judith Burton and Octavia Spencer as her best friend Debbie Claybourne, an MP's wife. The eight-episode series will be available to stream from midnight on Prime Video.
Plot and Premise
The high-octane comedy thriller centers on two best friends who believed they knew each other inside out—until Judith reveals she is an international assassin. According to the official synopsis: 'When a mysterious figure emerges from Judith's past and a hit goes horribly wrong, both of their worlds are turned upside down as they're forced to go on the run together. It's a race against time and a road trip across Europe, with law enforcement, highly trained assassins, and some very dangerous criminals at their heels.'
Cast and Characters
Joining Spencer and Waddingham are Hollywood legend Bill Nighy as The Director, Deadpool star Ed Skrein as Billy Donovan, Dutch actress Sylvia Hoeks as Ana, Bridgerton's Calam Lynch as Sam, Savannah Steyn as Queenie, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child's Jamie Parker as David, Bridgerton's Kathryn Drysdale as Amanda, Fernando Santos as Diego, and Jackie Ido as Jacques. Both Spencer and Waddingham serve as executive producers on the series.
Episodes and Behind-the-Scenes
All eight episodes land simultaneously on Prime Video, allowing for binge-watching. Waddingham shared a behind-the-scenes mishap with Harper's Bazaar, saying: 'Maybe kicking a door so hard on a train that I knocked it off its hinges. I don't even remember doing it. I just didn't realise I had done it.'
