Reuben Owen, known from Our Yorkshire Farm, is set to appear in the new series of Channel 5's Our Great Yorkshire Life, which premieres on Friday, September 11.
The 22-year-old first gained fame on Our Yorkshire Farm alongside his parents, Amanda and Clive Owen, who announced their separation in June 2022 after 22 years together. The Channel 5 show documented the family's life on their 2,000-acre Ravenseat Farm in the Yorkshire Dales. Reuben, the eldest son, was often filmed helping his parents with livestock and maintenance tasks on the documentary, which aired for five seasons between 2018 and 2022.
Career outside farming
Unlike his parents, Reuben has built a career outside farming, running a groundworks and heavy plant business. His work is documented in the Channel 5 series Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, which follows him as he navigates running a heavy-plant machinery and groundwork company. Premiering in 2024, that show has aired for three seasons, with the latest concluding earlier this year.
New series details
Reuben will now feature in Our Great Yorkshire Life, a documentary series that first aired in 2022 and celebrates the region's heritage, communities, and lives. Narrated by former Emmerdale star Dean Andrews, the new series launches on Friday, September 11.
"Our Great Yorkshire Life celebrates the lives of passionate Yorkshire people across England's biggest and most beautiful county," a synopsis for the show reads. "Each episode features a blend of heartwarming characters from all corners of 'God's Own Country'. Along its unspoiled coastline, in its countryside, villages, towns and cities, Our Great Yorkshire Life promises a brand-new take on Yorkshire life."
Production announcement
Daisy Beck Studios, which also makes Fletchers on the Farm, confirmed the news on Friday, September 5. "NEW SERIES ANNOUNCEMENT. Our Great Yorkshire Life returns to your screens next Friday, 11th September, on Channel 5," they posted on Instagram alongside photos of the show's cast, including a snap of Reuben. "This brand new series was filmed last year, following the lives of some well-known Yorkshire faces, alongside ordinary people who live and work in some of the most picturesque and breathtaking parts of the county."
Our Great Yorkshire Life returns on Channel 5 on Friday, September 11 at 8pm.
