Fans of Ransom Canyon have been left heartbroken after multiple outlets reported that Netflix has cancelled the beloved series. The drama only dropped its second outing in July this year, but it appears this will be the last one for the cosy, comfort watch that drew parallels to Virgin River. It should be noted that Netflix hasn't yet confirmed the cancellation.

Many have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their reactions to the reports from Deadline and Variety. One person posted on the platform: “@netflix I rebuke this in the name of Jesus!!!!” A second said: “There is nothing left to watch on Netflix stop canceling your shows.” A third added: “No way. Amazing cast, writers, directing.”
While a fourth commented: “So gutted by this. We deserved a season 3 and more Staten and Quinn.” Yet another said: “I loved the show. It deserves another season.”

The show’s main stars Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly, who played Staten Kirkland and Quinn O'Grady respectively, have yet to publicly comment on the reports, according to the Daily Mirror. Reach Plc, the publishers of the Daily Express, has reached out to Netflix for comment on this story.
The show is thought to have been cancelled due to low ratings, with Deadline reporting that the second season attracted much lower viewing figures compared to its first run. There was a huge drop from season one which brought in 7.2 million views within the first week of launch in 2025, compared to just 4.1 million views this time around.

Ransom Canyon season two finally saw Staten and Quinn together after much uncertainty in their will they/won’t they romance. Speaking about the resolution, star Duhamel told Netflix’s Tudum: “The audience deserves it. We’ve been teasing them for two years.”
He added: “Will they, won’t they? Every time you think it’s going to happen, something happens.” While his co-star Kelly explained that the two characters “stop running” and finally decide to be with each other. The Friday Night Lights actress said: “You decide to stop thinking something needs to be a certain way, and you accept what is.” Adding: “That’s what they both did.”
Season two also saw concert pianist Quinn helping to save the small town of Ransom Canyon. She organised a festival to bring people to the area and stimulate local business. The show’s creator April Blair said: “Season two is really about community rebuilding.” While Kelly added: “That plotline felt like a bond we all need right now to remember how much we all need each other, and what it feels like to show up for each other.”
