Strictly Host Rumours: Chris & Rosie Ramsey Coyly Address Tess & Claudia Replacement Talk
Ramseys Refuse to Rule Out Strictly Hosting Rumours

The race to find new hosts for Strictly Come Dancing has taken a fresh twist, as rumoured replacements Chris and Rosie Ramsey have playfully refused to rule themselves out of the running.

This Morning Teasing Fuels Speculation

The married TV duo, who have been together since 2014, found themselves directly questioned about the high-profile rumours during a joint appearance on ITV's This Morning on Friday, 5th December 2025. They were on the show to promote their new children's book when presenter Alison Hammond jokingly declared: "Now, we know that you're gonna be the new Strictly hosts as well, we just know it, and you're just keeping quiet about it but we know you're taking over from Tess and Claudia!"

In a coy response, Chris Ramsey—who famously reached the Strictly semi-final in 2019 with professional partner Karen Hauer—giggled and replied, "Oh do you reckon? It would be lovely to be there and not have to dance. We've got so many theories but not for public consumption!"

Rosie Ramsey insisted the pair were "just as invested" as the public in guessing the new hosts, but Alison Hammond was quick to retort: "This is what they say when they've got the job!" As the show cut to an ad break, Rosie could be heard giggling in the background, further fuelling the speculation.

A Baton Pass After Two Decades

The hosting vacancy arose just under two months ago, in October 2025, when incumbent presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman dropped the bombshell news that the current series would be their last. In a heartfelt video announcement, the pair revealed they were stepping down after a combined 21 years at the helm of the BBC's flagship Saturday night show.

Tess, who began hosting in 2004 alongside the late Bruce Forsyth, stated it was time to "step aside and pass on the baton." Claudia echoed the sentiment, adding they felt "so lucky to have been part of this amazing show." Their departure sent shockwaves through the entertainment world and ignited intense speculation about their successors.

A Crowded Field of Contenders

Several big names have already been linked to the coveted roles. The likes of Rylan Clark, Fleur East, and Holly Willoughby have all been touted as potential candidates at various points. The Ramseys' names now join this list, with their on-screen chemistry and Chris's first-hand experience of the Strictly pressure cooker making them a compelling proposition for producers.

While neither Chris nor Rosie Ramsey confirmed the rumours, their conspicuously evasive and playful answers on live television have certainly done nothing to quell the growing chatter. With the current series drawing to a close, an official announcement from the BBC on who will take over the sparkly baton is expected in the coming months.
