Chris and Rosie Ramsey have failed to dismiss speculation that they could replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman as hosts of Strictly Come Dancing. The couple, who appeared on Friday's This Morning, responded coyly when asked directly about the rumours by presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.
When Alison joked that they would be the new hosts, Chris, who reached the semi-final of the dance competition in 2019, replied: "Oh do you reckon? It would be lovely to be there and not have to dance. We've got so many theories but not for public consumption!" Rosie added that they are "just as invested" as everyone else in guessing the replacements.
The couple were promoting their new children's book during the interview. Alison pressed further, saying: "This is what they say when they've got the job!" The segment ended with Rosie giggling as the show cut to an ad break.
The rumours come after Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced in October that they would step down after 21 years. In a joint video, Claudia said: "After 21 wonderfully joyful years on Strictly, we have decided the time is right to step aside and pass on the baton." Tess added: "It's been a huge part of our lives.
Other names previously touted as potential replacements include Rylan, Fleur East, and Holly Willoughby. The BBC has yet to confirm who will take over hosting duties for the next series.
