All five seasons of the period drama Poldark, which some viewers have called "the best historic TV series ever made," will be added to ITVX in September. The broadcaster has announced the acquisition of the show, set in late 18th-century Cornwall, following Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner), a British Army officer returning home from war.
Fans Prefer It to Downton Abbey
The series, which also stars Heida Reed, Eleanor Tomlinson and Jack Farthing, began in 2015 and ran for five series, becoming a huge success before ending in 2019. Some viewers have said it beats Downton Abbey, with one person writing on Reddit: "Better than both Downton and Bridgerton imo."
