The BBC has announced new casting for the upcoming Peaky Blinders series, currently filming in Birmingham. Set a decade after World War Two, the show follows Duke Shelby (Jamie Bell) and Charles Shelby (Charlie Heaton) as they navigate a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger.
New additions to the cast include Samuel Bottomley as Eliot, Arturo Muselli as Angelo, Eugene Collins as Frank, and Lucie Shorthouse as Kezia Lee. Ned Dennehy and Packy Lee reprise their roles as Charlie Strong and Johnny Dogs respectively.
Conleth Hill joins as Clemmy Keeler, patriarch of a rival gangster family, while Cal O’Driscoll plays his son Aidan Keeler and Daniel Monks portrays Detective Inspector Bell. They join previously announced cast members Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski, whose roles remain undisclosed.
The series is created by Steven Knight and directed by Mike Barker and Anna Zackrisson. It marks the first commission under a new BBC partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority to boost production investment in the region.
Both six-part series will premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK, and on Netflix internationally.
