A Delta passenger has publicly shamed a fellow flyer for what they described as 'manspread maxing' on a flight, sharing an image of a man taking up a huge amount of space with his legs. The photo quickly went viral, and fellow travellers admitted they couldn't believe what they were seeing.
The passenger, who posted on Reddit, said: "This is gross and unnecessary. Thankfully it’s a short flight, but apparently common courtesy is no longer a thing." They explained that the man's other foot, which was out of shot, was resting on the centre console.

The passenger claimed they weren't the only person who had become fed up with his behaviour, saying the man sitting in front of him "unceremoniously dropped his elbow hard on the toe of his shoe" in an apparent attempt to teach him a lesson.
The post quickly sparked a debate in the comments, with many users calling for public shaming to make a comeback until people start behaving more 'reasonably' around others.

One user said: "I would turn to him and say, ‘you’re sitting like you’re about to have a pelvic exam.’ I feel like he would close his legs up really quick."
Another wrote: "I think I sit next to this guy on nearly every flight I am ever on. Man spreading to the extreme. On my last flight, I had to conquer my own space. When the guy looked at me incredulously, I asked him to quit man spreading and give me my space. He had never heard the term man spreading before. Why was I not surprised?"
